Beneath the Ancestral Skies: Indigenous Women's Symposium on Star Knowledge and Collaborative Storytelling is a transformative three-day event dedicated to celebrating, sharing, and understanding the deep-rooted Indigenous knowledge systems, focusing on star knowledge and its intertwining with storytelling and wisdom.
This immersive experience welcomes Indigenous women, Two-Spirit, and LGBTQ+ individuals from various backgrounds, inviting them to share their unique perspectives and teachings. This year, we will be exploring the cosmic connection of Indigenous cultures and how this celestial knowledge is conveyed through stories passed down through generations.
Beyond sharing knowledge, this symposium aims to cultivate a space of collaboration and understanding, fostering relationships between community members, scholars, and students.
With an array of presentations, workshops, and even a captivating keynote inside a portable planetarium dome, attendees will have a unique opportunity to engage with star knowledge in a truly immersive way.
